The taste in Telugu is ‘Ruchi’ (రుచి), in the plural it’s ‘ruchulu’ (రుచులు). In Telugu, ‘shad-ruchulu’ (షడ్రుచులు) literally ‘6 tastes’ are commonly used. For Telugu New Year ‘Ugadi’ (ఉగాది), these 6 tastes are mixed and offered as prasadam.
